1 year ago from today, I was probably swimming at Jess's house anxiously awaiting college to begin in 3 months. Who would have thought that I, Kristen Dorsey, would be about to go to college. I know I couldn't believe it. I was excited but I didn't know what to expect. And now a year later, I have decided that college was everything I hoped for and more. I met some of the most awesome people in the world. People that changed me on the inside. People that encouraged me to be a better person. And people that I could just sit in a room with and have fun!
Some of my crazy awesome friends!

I learned many things this past year too. I learned that God is bigger than anything that I could ever imagine. I have always heard this, but never fully believed it. When I finally let God have control of everything in my life, I was never truly happy. I am still working on giving him everything though. I learned how much of an impact love has on the world. If we truly showed God's love to everyone we came in contact with, think about how much this world would be different. I learned that I can do anything I put my mind to if I do it through Jesus. Who would have thought that 20 college kids could start a mission to show God's love through getting a healthcare center in and african country? I know I didn't until I truly trusted God. No we haven't done it yet, but this time next year we will have. I learned so much more but have not enough time to tell.

Basically throughout my first year of college, I have grasped how much I must rely on my favorite verse:

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understaning. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.
